Stationery Show Wrap

We always arrive at the show breathlessly seeking fresh new looks for the season!  We were not disappointed!  Here are some of our favorite trends:

Chalkboard art is still strong and we found it cleverly incorporated in all kinds of paper goods.

The new Kate Spade booth had quite the buzz at the show.  We swooned over the witty, bold simplicity of the designs.  Be sure to stay tuned, we ordered almost all of it!

Watercolors in summery pastels - a really fresh look!  Mara-Mi has lovely notecards and invitations.  This Kate Spade 2014 planner is a stunner!  Beautiful art throughout the book!

 We were delightfully surprised to find these Florence Broadhurst designs at the Giftwrap Co.  You may recognize some of these patterns from Kate Spade bags and fabrics.  Look for them in the shop very soon!

 Gold foil and letterpress are showing up in all kinds of uses.  These notebooks will add flair to desktops!

 We really fell for these fresh, playful prints evoking gay Paris!  They are on the way along with notecards, greeting cards...

 Organic glam!  We love the contrast of these timeless styles, hand done in gold leaf.  Alicia got to choose the paper colors so we could put together a look that is Paper Delights!

Rifle Paper Company continues to lead the new design aesthetic.  We saw Rifle-inspired designs throughout the show, but a visit to the Rifle booth made it clear who was leading the way!  This amazing 2014 desk calendar {check out the packaging} is just a tease of the gorgeous paper goods on the way!

Aaahhhhh...ombre

Spring is arriving at Paper Delights daily!  The latest breath of freshness came in the form of brushed pastel gift wraps from Rifle.  The colors are right on trend:  one side is gradations of coral pink and the reverse is a minty teal.  Use this nice, heavy paper for a variety of inspired paper crafting  - even wrapping a beautiful Mothers Day gift!

Sublime...

Indulge your senses with these beautifully designed Voluspa fragrances!  We were a bit giddy as we unpacked each of the lovely candles, body/room spray and soaps.  Just the rays of sunshine we were craving on another ultra-gray Seattle day.  Sand and Sea, Citrus, Earth and Sun, truly a waft of the coming spring and summer seasons...

We really can't resist these stylish little mini bars!  Each of the unique chocolate combos encompass a balance of some complex flavors that mix together to create supreme yummy-ness!  Oh, and of course, they're local!

Ahhhhh...the memories

A bit of nostalgia with an updated sparkle!  Use these delicate red or white paper doilies to add that vintage touch to Valentine cards or baked goods.  Tie it all up with our new cotton twine twisted with a delicate gold or silver metallic strand.  The extra personal touch will surely be rewarded!

Time to write thank you notes!

Seems like a bit of a chore, but once I have some pretty cards on nice paper I get inspired!  It really gives me a chance to think about each gift that someone picked out for me and the thought and care that went into it.  It also feels great to mark each one off the to-do list!  If you need a little inspiration, come into the shop and peruse our great selection of designs until you find just the thing to express your gratitude!

We are smitten with this beautiful, new design quarterly, Anthology! It has the look & feel of a lovely paperback book, with just a few {also lovely} ads. The current issue, Life is a Party {available until Aug. 15} is full of entertaining ideas: "surprise and delight", "planning a party D.J. style"... themes, surprises, decor, recipes, invites. We just made the "kid-simple cupcakes" and can't wait to try the "choc-filled macarons"! You'll be inspired by the great design pix and the stories about the designers.
